Vintage Oaxacan drip ware currently for sale in the shop was previously owned by a dealer who retired and had it stored in his barn for 17 years.  It was old long before it was stored; probably made between 1930 to 1950's.  Most pieces are in excellent condition but a few have signs of age and are priced accordingly.

Different styles and sizes of colorful pitchers are included in the stock as well as all sorts and sizes of serving pieces with prices ranging from $10.00 to $100.00.  A unique style vessel which looks like a creamer and is the size of a large coffee mug, I'm calling a honey pitcher due to its appearance.  Come see for yourself and help determine its purpose.

Oaxacan drip ware is glazed pottery fired at a higher temperature than many types of Mexican pottery and was made almost exclusively for table ware.  Made in the southern state of Oaxaca, the colorful glazes were dripped onto the pieces liberally and then ran together forming quite a variety of beautiful colors and hues.  No two pieces are exactly the same.  The bright, intense colors are very cheerful and very Mexican.  Oaxacan ceramic artisans created many unique molds for their vessels which have not been duplicated anywhere outside the state.

Add to your collection from our stock or let us add to ours from yours.  Either way, Oaxacan drip ware is currently featured at Mainly Mexican Antiques & Collectibles.
